Kim Wishcamper is a scabby-kneed mountain biker and compulsive dog squeezer, currently settled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. She's forever scheming about the next trip out west in her dusty old Airstream, and scanning Petfinder for new four-legged additions to the family.

For the last five years, I've had the pleasure of photographing some of the world's most attractive models - not the big-name stars you see in Vogue, but the up-and-comers, the ones without much photoshoot experience. There's a certain charm to these amateurs who have a star quality, a "je ne sais paw," but don't yet realize it. That's not to say I haven't dealt with some attitude; it's unavoidable in this business. Sometimes the sun's dropping fast toward the horizon, we're losing light and we need to get the shot, and the "talent" just wants to eat bees. It's times like this that my patience and ability to adapt to the moment really pay off.

After a few years of doing photography on its own, I took to writing because, although a picture may be worth a thousand words, it's hard for the audience to know exactly which words. Marrying together text and images lets me fully convey the story. I also put my perfectionism to good use by offering editing and proofreading services.
